Senior Executive – Restructuring Job Description

The Weston Group Restructuring Team is one of the most highly regarded teams in the international markets having worked on some of the region’s most high profile restructuring cases in recent years.
Apart from having a strong core business in advising underperforming corporate and their stakeholders, The Weston Group Restructuring Team is developing market leadership in a number of areas including advising trustees and corporates on the repair of pension deficits, advising underperforming trusts on the recovery of financial balance and the accelerated disposal and acquisition of businesses. You will have the opportunity to be based in New York but work on assignments locally, nationally and internationally depending on our client requirements and work with businesses of all sizes

Your Responsibilities

* Display a high level of commercial acumen, and an awareness of the key drivers of corporate failure/under performance

* Must have demonstrable Corporate Restructuring experience, with a strong focus on restructuring/advisory work, either on behalf of creditors or distressed corporate.

* Understand the capabilities of the firm, looking for capabilities to sell additional services to our clients

* Sharing technical and other knowledge with team, drawing on previous experience

* Coach junior team members to ensure that essential CF skills are developed and that work performed is to the required standard

* Take responsibility for performing detailed financial and commercial analysis, identifying key issues and potential areas of sensitivity

* Play a central role in the preparation of deliverables including proposals and reports, assisting in the preparation of presentations and discussions with the client

* Demonstrate the confidence and professionalism required when dealing with assignment partners, management in corporate and bank and other financial institution contacts

* Actively seek to contribute to business development opportunities through industry targeting exercises, research, using own market intelligence and building their own work provider contacts

* Adapt well to change and have a flexible and positive approach, leading by example

* Be a team player with excellent communication skills, able to build effective relationships at all levels

* Ensure work is produced to tight deadlines, often under pressure, without impact on quality of deliverable or clarity of presentation.

* Desire to develop technical knowledge of Insolvency legislation and implementation, perhaps through Joint Insolvency Examinations (JIEB).

* A JIEB qualification or knowledge of insolvency procedures would be an advantage, but is not essential.
